Sakushinkan
The school that cultivates the spirit of ancient martial arts
Sakushinkan is a traditional Japanese martial arts school, inheriting the legacy of ancient warrior schools that practiced both unarmed and armed combat. Our school carries forward the teachings of Takamatsu Toshitsugu Sensei, which go beyond the practice of combat techniques and encompass a comprehensive study of the martial path. The goal of the Sakushinkan school is not proselytism or profit, but the training of good practitioners and future masters.
In direct lineage with ancient teachings
Sakushinkan preserves and transmits the ancient teachings of Grandmaster Takamatsu Sumisuke through an unbroken line of transmission. Ven. Seiun learned these teachings from Grandmaster Kaminaga Shigemi, the successor of Grandmaster Ueno Takashi, who was a student of Takamatsu Sensei.
Sakushinkan courses
Tai Chi
The program includes the study of Taoist arts (Dogyo) such as Taigyokuken, Hakkesho, Hakkyokuken, and the ki-ko program. These arts have a dual purpose, both martial and therapeutic. In ancient China, the movements learned for personal defense and warfare originated from exercises for longevity, which aim to stimulate the "Ki" or "Chi".
Course on self defense
Self defense is the ability to effectively manage (or avoid) conflicts that may escalate into physical altercations between individuals for various reasons. This course is designed for anyone seeking a practical solution to safeguard their personal safety, providing techniques to prevent and defend oneself from dangerous situations.
